We are a new childcare center opening 6/1/2026. The Learning Nest is located in Barnwell/ South Fairhope. We are 15 minutes south of Thomas Hospital. TLN is a religious based childcare center, DHR license exempt.
TLN's director is Brittany Waters. She is well known for her excellence with children.

At The Learning Nest, our curriculum is built around a focus on quality, safety, meaningful learning, and reaching child developmental milestones. We use a play-based approach that supports the whole child—socially, emotionally, spiritually, and academically. Through child-centered care, early literacy and numeracy, and hands-on experiences, we help each child grow with confidence and joy.
Our Curriculum
Creative Exploration
Encouraging discovery through hands-on art, music, and imaginative play. TLN encourages art, painting, crafts, STEM learning/toys, and musical activities. Each room has a sensory section for tactile and visual cognitive development. Imaginary and practical play incorporated into each classroom.
Early Learning
Developing essential skills and knowledge in a supportive and loving environment. Academic education beginning at all ages. Gross motor skills, alphabet, sign language counting, shapes, music, imaginary play, and practical play for infants to age 3. Ages 3-5 begin a heavier emphasis on improving earlier skills/ knowledge and beginning handwriting, fine motor skills, and reading.

Advanced security protocols and authorized pickup verification to ensure every child arrives and leaves safely.
Our Commitment to Safety
At The Learning Nest, your child’s safety is our top priority. Our center uses secure, locked doors and monitored entry, cameras in key areas, and a strict check-in and check-out process. We have a centrally monitored fire alarm system. Classrooms are cleaned and sanitized daily. Our staff are CPR/first-aid trained, background-checked, and committed to safe supervision and DHR recommended ratios.
